Day 01: Varanasi Arrival On arrival at Varanasi Airport meet our representative at the arrival gate where he will be waiting with Name Signboard. Later proceed to your pre-booked Hotel. In the evening drive to Ganga ghat where you can choose to take sunset boat ride & experience amazing Ganga Aarti ceremony. Later back to the hotel. Overnight in Varanasi. Day 02: Varanasi, Sarnath to Bodhgaya In the early morning at 5:15 am visit Ganga ghat where you can see Subah-e-Banaras ceremony. Later one can choose to take a sunrise boat tour(Optional) & return to the hotel. After breakfast drive to Sarnath, Lord Budha have sermoned first at Sarnath after getting enlightenment. In Sarnath visit most important Dhamek Stupa, Main Temple, Chaukandi Stupa, Thai Temple & Archeological museum. Later drive to Bodhgaya. Varanasi to Bodhgaya at 1:30 pm Bodhgaya is the place where Lord Buddha got enlightenment and it is a spiritual home of Buddhism. It attracts followers of Buddhism from all over the world. Bodhgaya is situated on the bank of the Niranjana River and considered to be the holiest place in Buddhism. At age of 29 as young Prince Siddhartha, he came to Bodhgaya which was the Urvela forest at the time and meditated for 6 years below Banyan tree to achieve the final stage of Bodhisattva or Buddhahood or enlightenment. Later his teaching comprises based on interpretation of different School of Buddhism, it spread around the world mainly as Theravada, Mahayana, Vajrayāna & Zen Buddhism. Later on, arrival Check-In to hotel and relax. Overnight in Bodhgaya. Day 03: Bodhgaya Sightseeing In morning visit place of enlightenment of Lord Buddha, the site is preserved as Mahabodhi Temple compound and you also see Banyan tree & site of Lord Buddha meditation. One can choose to stay in Mahabodhi temple compound for hours to meditate. Also visit monasteries of different countries like Chinese, Bhutan, Srilankan, Thai and Archaeological Museum. Later also visit Sujata Village and Niranjana river. Overnight in Bodhgaya. Day 04: Bodhgaya to Rajgir | Nalanda to Patna In the morning drive to another important Buddhist Pilgrimage destination with the high footfall that is Rajgir. On arrival take ropeway ride to Vulture Peak or Gridhkuta Hill & also visit peace stupa on the same hill. Later one can visit other stupa's of Buddhist interest & proceed to Nalanda. Nalanda was renowned University for Buddhist studies & one of the oldest university of India after Taxila(Now part of Pakistan). This university was burnt by Muslim invader Bakhtiar Khilji. You can visit the ruin location of university and archaeological museum. Later in the evening drive to Patna. Overnight in Patna. Day 05: Patna to Kushinagar Journey via Vaishali & Kesaria In morning drive 252 km to Kushinagar Enroute visit Vaishali (Lord Buddha announced that he is reaching closer to Maha- Parinirvana). Also, stop at Kesaria stupa and further proceed to Kushinagar(a place where Lord Buddha had left the world behind him after offering an invaluable contribution to humanity, the great religion known as Buddhism). On arrival Kushinagar, transfer to hotel. Evening on leisure. Overnight in Kushinagar. Day 06: Kushinagar to Lumbini Journey In morning visit Maha-Parinirvana Temple (very holy place in Buddhism as Lord Buddha took last breath here) and also visit Ramabhar Stupa (Ground of Cremation of Lord Budha). Later proceed to Lumbini which is 180 km & 3-4 hrs drive. Lumbini is the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Later evening on leisure. Overnight in Lumbini. Day 07: Lumbini to Sravasti Journey In morning visit Mayadevi Temple. This place is a blessed one for its serenity and the natural beauty, purely coinciding to the perception of a place where the legend was born. Later in the afternoon drive to Sravasti where Lord Budha spent most of his monsoon in Jetvana forest. Overnight in Sravasti. Day 08: Sravasti to Prayagraj/Kaushambi Journey In morning visit Jetvana monastery & other temples. Later proceed to Kaushambi though stay at Prayagraj Enroute to break a long journey. Prayagraj is popularly known to be City of Kumbh & Triveni Sangam. Overnight in Prayagraj/ Allahabad. Day 09: Prayagraj to Kaushambi to Lucknow In morning drive Kaushambi which is located on the bank of Yamuna river & very popular among Buddhist Pilgrims. Lord Buddha had delivered many sermons here and many historical ruins can be found here including Stupa, Fort and other ancient monuments. Ashoka Pillar was also found here during excavation. It is believed that Lord Buddha stayed here at Ghoshit Ram Vihara during his journey. On arrival mark your visit at Ghoshit Ram Monastery and other important attractions. Later drive to Lucknow. Overnight in Lucknow. Day 10: Lucknow to Sankisa to Agra Journey In the morning drive to Sankisa, an important Buddhist Pilgrimage place where visit Monastery and stupas. Later proceed to Agra. Overnight in Agra Day 11: Agra Sightseeing to New Delhi Departure In the morning visit "Taj Mahal". Taj Mahal is a wonderful piece of architecture. It was made by White Marble by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for Mumtaj Mahal. In the same monument, Mumtaj & Shah Jahan was buried. It is the most famous monument among the 7 wonders in the world. Continue to Agra Fort which is made of red stones and it was the centre of power during Mughal rule. Later proceed to New Delhi Airport for onward journey.
